AbstractPentagastrin is deamidated to pentagastrin acid by high‐speed supernatant preparations obtained from rat, dog and human liver. The product, which contains all the amino acids in the parent substance, is biologically inactive. Experiments with pentagastrin labelled with carbon 14 indicate that this reaction also occurs in intact dog
