AbstractSix different inoculation methods have been tested to determinePseudocercosporella herpo‐trichoidesresistance of wheat using small seed‐samples. The observed differentiation among hosts corresponds to that known from the literature:‘Diplomat’ and ‘Caribo’ are susceptible whereas ‘VPM1’, ‘Rendezvous’ and ‘Roazon’ carry resistance transferred fromAegilops ventricosa.The modified method of Frauensteinand Roskothen(1979) seems to be most efficient: it is timesaving, easy to use and only small seed‐samples are necessary.
