SummaryThe development of icterus caused by hepatitis can give a few weeks remission to rheumatoid arthritis patients (P.S. Hench, 1933).it was important to verify if this variety of icterus causes a reduction of intradermic spreading of the hyaluronidase-haemoglobin mixture, comparable with the one, observed during the treatment with A.C.T.H.Repeated measurements, effected in 4 cases of hepatitis give readings between 5,6 cm2and 9,9 cm2, frankly inferior to the normal readings (10 to 20 cm2), realized under standardized conditions.Everything happens, as if an icterus, caused by hepatitis, constitutes an important stress, causing a prolonged adreno-cortical stimulation. This opinion is confirmed by a relative elevation of the urinary corticoïds (Franckson and Albeaux-Fernet 1952)
