A data file for geological field data has been constructed. Programmes of input, output, plotting and statistical treatment have been combined to a system called GEOMAP. The standard retrieval of GEOMAP includes a large number of lists and plotted maps of outcrops, rock types and single or combined tectonic parameters. Plotting of tectonic data in equal-area projections and rather advanced statistics are also included in the system. A new way of processing current text is introduced. GEOMAP has been tested in Scandinavian igneous and metamorphic terrains during the last two years.
