In computational and experimental aspects of nuclear reactor theory, the perturbation method is applied in many ways1,2. In this paper we rigorously apply this perturbation method to find qualitative results for the critical parameter, the critical flux, the fundamental decay factor (the dominant eigenvalue) and the fundamental mode.
