摘要:
Till wedges are reported from a gravel pit in southern Sweden. They have previously only been described from North America Till wedges are intrusions into Underlying stratified deposits, formed by cracking and filling (in frozen ground) and squeezing in (in unfrozen ground). Their orientation is an important and reliable indicator of the direction of glacial movement. Till wedges (in Swedishmoränkilar) therefore provide a new tool for the establishment of the directions of ice flows. The till wedges here described indicate that the first Late Weichselian ice flow over southwesternmost Sweden came from the northwest.
