Interest in the management of soft tissue sarcomas has increased in recent years because of their relatively more common occurrence in younger patients and the improved clinical results obtained with new treatment methods. Experience with a management approach combining preoperative moderate-dose radiation and conservative surgery is discussed and compared with more radical modalities.
