The effectiveness of the Case-General Electric fellowship program for teachers of secondary school physics has been studied. The impact of the program on the training of scientific and engineering personnel through advanced training of physics teachers is discussed. An indication of the general problems faced by teachers in their respective schools is set down, along with specific examples of improved teaching.The effect of the program is set forth convincingly through the results of a questionnaire sent to former Fellows.The records of Fellow's students who attended Case have been examined. Their performance at Case is quite appreciably above the average, showing that more and better students are being trained for scientific and engineering careers as a result of the GE Science program.
