SummaryTwenty-three patients suffering from local gastrointestinal lymphoma and treated at the Institute Bordet between 1938 and 1968 are discussed. Eighteen patients were irradiated, mostly after surgical excision. Survival after 5 years confirms the possibility of curing by radiotherapy, even with an initially extensive dissemination. Associated surgery-radiotherapy provides for gastric lymphoma a curing rate similar to the one for lymph node lymphoma. Problems related to largeness of irradiation fields are also discussed, in relation with prophylaxis. No patient showed any sequel to the irradiation.
