摘要:
This paper begins with an overview of noise and related matters arising from the placement of major roads through established residential areas in what are frequently corridors of restricted width, discusses noise calculation, measurement and standards, and highlights issues relating to the control of road traffic noise and barrier design in restricted settings. It raises matters concerning noise intrusion in dwellings and then discusses compensation for noise intrusion which is not yet a legal requirement in relation to the building of roads in Australia.
