The distribution, concentration and orientation of stainless steel fibre-filled polypropylene composites were determined by using an eddy-current probe designed for this purpose. A contour map showing resistance components of the impedance of a probe scanning a sample gave a pattern closely resembling that at a radiograph of that sample
