摘要:
AbstractFamilies and Schools Together (FAST) is a substance-abuse prevention program that focuses on elementary school children identified as at risk by classroom teachers. FAST uses a whole-family approach, serving as many as 10 families at a time, and actively recruits families that were previously not coming to the school. The program is a collaborative effort that involves community agencies and parents as partners. FAST addresses the factors that correlate with adolescent substance abuse; the authors describe these factors and the results of the program to date.
