After a brief account of the development of special courses in physics for premedical and predental and for other nonengineering groups of students, and of the growing need for such courses, suggestions are made as to the types of students to be admitted, suitable textbooks, and sources of illustrative material. The relatively minor changes needed in the laboratory work are pointed out. Evidence that medical schools strongly endorse such courses is included.
