AbstractA simple synthesis of the alkaloid (±)‐sedamine, which gives further proof of its assumed structure, is reported; some improvements on a known synthesis are also given.From the mother liquors of the former syntheses a diastereoisomer of (±)‐sedamine, which is named (±)‐isosedamine, has been isolated.(±)‐Sedamine was resolved and (−)‐sedamine is described. The various stereoisomers are discussed also in relation to their i
