The authors have demonstrated that the method they used is successful in collecting sweat for analysis and aids in the diagnosis of pancreatic cystic fibrosis. Some of the parents had elevated levels of sweat chloride. Although asymptomatic siblings had no elevation of sodium in sweat, a few had elevations above one sided tolerance limit for normal distribution of chloride in sweat.
