AbstractThePeriplocaceaeFamily is represented in the Flora of Turkey and Cyprus by two genera:PeriplocaL. andCypriniaBrowicz. Of the 11 species ofPeriplocathat are known, only one grows in Turkey, namelyP. graeca. L. In Cyprus there are noPeriplocaspecies.P. graecahas two varieties growing in Turkey. These are var.graeca(common) and var.vestitaRohlena (only in Anatolia). The new genusCyprinia, with only one species,C. gracilis(Boiss.) Browicz, is closely related toPeriplocaand differs from it in having bifid corona lobes and sessile translators.C. gracilisis reported from 4 stands in southern Turkey and from many localities in Cyprus. The distribution of these two species is shown in separate point maps.
