This study attempted to determine the effect of an instruction based on validated learning hierarchy in mathematics on student learning outcomes. The study involved the use of validated learning hierarchy to teach sampled subjects topics in mathematics. Two streams each, selected from two schools by using their score on a pre‐test and an aptitude test as criteria, were assigned randomly to two instructional strategies—the learning hierarchy strategy (experimental) and conventional strategy (control).
