The formation ofcis-PtCl2(DMSO)2was achieved by simple contact between PtCl2and DMSO. The congruent melting (220°) and thermal decomposition of the product were studied by DTA and TG. The formation reaction shows that the trans effect of Cl−is greater than that of DM
