With more institutions utilizing more nurses with master's degrees in clinical practice, yet another adjustment problem laces the new clinical nurse specialist—the conflicts inherent in a hrge peer group. This article explores some of the problems and benefits unique to these practitioners, offers guidelines for nurses considering such positions, and offers suggestions for practitioners and administrators to facilitate the transition.
