摘要:

After all the recent bad news about measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine, it is finally time for some good news. A study by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) pours cold water on the idea that MMR and other measles virus-containing vaccines (MCVs) may be associated with an increased risk for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The study, presented at the 40th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy [Toronto, Canada; September 2000], also shows that age at vaccination does not appear to increase the risk for developing IBD. What's more, at the end of the session experts slammed the methodology of a UK study that played a large part in raising concerns about MMR vaccination and led to huge reductions in MMR immunisation rates in that country.
