AbstractIn human melanoma cells one can detect two discrete DNA replication intermediates, 10‐kb DNA intermediates and Okakzaki fragments. Both intermediates are seen when cells are rapidly growing in medium supplemented with fetal calf serum. When the medium is supplemented with newborn calf serum, one can detect Okakzaki fragments but not 10‐kb DNA intermediates.
