At the Royal Horticultural Society's Show at Chelsea in May, the Bee Research Association provided an exhibition to show the development of the modern hive. Representative exhibits from the Association's collection of Historical and Contemporary Beekeeping Material were grouped in eight sections, each amplified and enlivened by illustrations from the Picture Library.The introductory summary, and the descriptive tests for the eight Sections, are reprinted below. They provide a useful epitome of the subject, and may help others in preparing similar exhibits. We regret that we cannot, however, lend the valuable historical material for such occasions.
