摘要:

Glucose and Lactose molecules have been prepared and recrystallized from bidistilled water. Extensive measurements have been carried out on these materials in the solid state comprising infrared; electronic absorption spectra before and after exposure to an absorbed energetic γ-ray dose. These materials were chosen as representatives of different types of sugars including mono- and disaccharides. They have hydrogen bonding of variant origins. The relative strength of the cyclic structures and the magnitude of γ-radiation damage were evaluated in each case. Gamma radiotic oxidation mechanism was established for both mono- and disaccharides investigated. A correlation between γ-radiation damage radiotic and relative strength of cyclic structures was put forward and established for the first time.
