AbstractThis paper discusses the proposed Institute's role in regulatory practices geared to the protection and promotion of health within the economic and political context of the working environment. Standards, until recently, have been construed narrowly in terms of hazard exposures. Here I treat standards as an integral part of the regulatory process.
