摘要:

The mainstream of immunologic research has bypassed syphilis in recent years, partly because the discovery of penicillin promised to eliminate the disease. But with the promise unfulfilled, new attention is turning to the ways in which the human host responds toTreponema palliduminfection. The authors delineate a complex interplay of humoral and cell-mediated mechanisms.
