摘要:

The ideals that we as nurse specialists aspire to and perform for are constantly being changed and clarified in the moment of action. We must recognize our own influence on these changes. Each of us is a part of the whole. We need to continually listen to each other, speak to each other, and acknowledge the value that each of us has to offer. One of the forms we may choose to express our concern for quality assurance in our field, is that of an “expert witness.” Our tools for performance are at hand. We constantly judge situations, issues, policies, and procedures through our Standards of Practice. However, it is the attitudes which fuel us that directly effect the quality of change in our purpose. We need to strive for positive interactions with our nursing peers for effective “educational therapy” to take place. There are no schools for learning the specifics of this role. Monitoring our own practice is our current position. Each of us is, in fact, our own “expert witness.” Do we have a belief in our purpose? If so, why not give visibility to another of our “Dimensions in Excellence?”
