SUMMARYEighteen patients with long standing pityriasis lichenoides were treated with UV‐B phototherapy. Fourteen patients (82.4%) had a good response to the treatment with complete clearance in nine patients (53.0%) and more than 90% clearance in five patients (29.4%). Three patients (17.6%) did not clear but all had definite improvement. One patient defaulted after 10 treatments. Of the 14 patients who cleared, 12 were followed up for a period ranging from six months to three years and five months. Six patients remained clear. Four patients had a few recurrent lesions which did not necessitate re‐treatment, and three of these patients eventually cleared spontaneously.
