A microcomputer was interfaced to a potentiostat, providing a fully automated system for linear-sweep and cyclic voltammetry. it was used for metal-ion analysis, by the determination of peak currents in a series of applied potential sweeps of increasing sweep rates. The slopes of the plots of peak current vs square root of sweep rate were calculated and related to the concentrationsvialinear equations. Carbon-paste electrodes were used and the equations for various electroactive species were found to be analytically applicable with newly prepared electrodes.
