摘要:
There is significant potential for the diffusion of Australian renewable energy technologies to the Asia-Pacific region. Many Australian companies already export New and Renewable Sources of Energy (NRSE) technologies to countries in the region, and Australia's domestic industry provides a sound base for companies to expand into increasing export markets. In addition, the Australian government is increasing interest in NRSE, pursuing Joint Implementation (JI) or Activities Implemented Jointly (AIJ) as a mechanism for the transfer of NRSE technologies under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Despite competition with often subsidised conventional energy sources, NRSE technologies are considered to be economically and technically viable in many areas of developing countries. This paper explores issues relating to NRSE projects in developing countries, potential markets for Australian NRSE technologies, and opportunities for Australian industry and government players.
