AbstractThe crystal structure of LiCN has been fully determined. Cell dimensions:a= 3.73;b= 6.52;c= 8.73 Å. Space‐groupD2h16‐Pmen. Four molecules per cell. The atomic parameters are given on p. 249, a (100) projection is seen in fig. 1.The structure is of the fourfold coordination type, but a very distorted one with large empty channels along the a‐axis. Each Li is surrounded by one C and three N atoms. This indicates that the ionisation electron has been transferred from the Li chiefly to the N. This is confirmed by the density map of the a‐axis pr
