摘要:
Starch accumulates mainly in the parenchyma of the inner bark and of the wood. The quantity of stored starch changes through the yearly cycle. Such changes in starch content can be related to growth in diameter and in length of the stem, i.e.: a) growth in length mostly occurs at the expense of the stored starch causing a quick spring decrease of starch content in the storage tissues; b) growth in diameter occurs only partially at the expense of the stored starch.
