In an attempt to throw some light on the controversies over the foundations of quantum mechanics, the author presents what he believes to be the philosophical viewpoint (namely, “idealism”) underlying Bohr's interpretation of quantum mechanics and then illustrates this with some typical passages by Bohr. Why the “realist” might find this interpretation unsatisfactory is briefly indicated by some statements by Einstein.
