摘要:
Computerized documentation systems are becoming the state of the art in acute care settings, but some organizations are struggling with the actual cost versus the perceived utility of the system. The article presents an overview of one organization's evaluation plan to assess the worth of such a computerized system. The benefits assessed were accuracy, quality, safety, and satisfaction. Preimplementation evaluation results can be used as a rationale for the need for and value of such a system. The plan is presented for its applicability to any care setting, especially the emergency department.
