ABSTRACTParatrichophaea macrocystisis reported from North America, and two other previously described species are transferred to the genus from other genera. The new combinations areP. michiganensisandP. pygmea. Paratrichophaeais compared toTricharina, Wiicoxina, Trichophaeopsis, Rhizoblepharia, TrichophaeaandCheilymeniabut is considered to be distinct from them.
