ABSTRACT.Computer manipulation of EEG data requires that the data be in digital form. Many interesting EEGs, however, are recorded only in analog form on paper tracings. This article presents a method of EEG data digitization of analog recordings. This method uses a hand-held scanner to scan and digitize the EEG“image”on the paper tracing and then extract the original signal. Some intrinsic difficulties of practical application and future prospects of the approach are discussed.
