AbstractA diffusion theory, including thermo‐diffusion, is correlated with recent experimental measurements on the low voltage arc in caesium vapours. A quantitative interpretation is given for spectrographic, solid probe and output characteristics data, which appears particularly useful in the development of practical thermionic energy converter
