Users of microcomputer data base software may be creating applications that do not correctly implement the relational model. As a result, user-built applications may not retrieve, update, or delete data properly, and may not store data efficiently. Organizational problems that may occur as end-user computing becomes more widespread point to the need for additional user training within the organization and far greater cognizance on the part of the IS management team.
