AbstractBy comparative investigations of solutions of randomly branched poly(phenylene quinoxalines) (PPQ) with low degree of branching and solutions of linear PPQ the hydrodynamic properties and polydispersity coefficient are shown to be sensitively affected by branching. The conformation of branched PPQ macromolecules in solution was found to deviate from Gaussian type. Additionally, differences between experimental and theoretical MWD were detected. Possible explanations of the observed desagreement are discussed.
