AbstractStarting from considerations of Onsager and of the present writer a method is suggested for calculating dipole moments from measurements of the dielectric constant and the density of liquids containing one or more dipole components. By means of a number of examples it is shown that the dipole moments computed by means of the derived formulae are all but independent of the temperature and the concentration of the dipole substance, and sufficiently agree with those calculated with the aid of the usual methods.
