The formation and work of the AAPT Committee on Scientific Apparatus for Educational Institutions is described. Many suggestions are made for increasing the variety and appeal of apparatus used in teaching physics, with the ultimate objective of increasing student interest in the subject, and of meeting the growing demand for research physicists and physics teachers.
