At the XXI International Beekeeping Congress at the University of Maryland, U.S.A., in August 1967, ProfessorÅkerberg presented a paper on the pollination of legumes grown for fodder. The present article is a revised form of this paper; it usefully supplements‘A survey of pollination and seed growing of red clover in Europe’by E.Åkerberg and C. Stapel published in the 1966 Supplement to Bee World, and the earlier review by Dr. G. E. Bohart in 1960 Bee World on‘Insect pollination of forage legumes’.ProfessorÅkerberg is Director of the Swedish Seed Association at Svalöf; he is Chairman of the I.U.B.S. Working Group on Pollination, and a member of B.R.A. Council.
