This study explores the extent to which attitude disparity, liberalism, and alienation from society are related to tolerance. It was found that tolerance increased with liberalism and decreased with increasing attitude divergence from the target. No clear relationship between alienation and tolerance emerged. The largest proportion of respondents expressed verbal tolerance. The major implication was drawn that intolerance may always be a potential concomitant of human diversity.
