SummaryA 66 year-old woman presented (1 year after a Myocardial infarction) with a large embolic Stroke which resolved completely under heparin tretment. As in most published cases, the cmbolization cannot be absolutely demonstrated. Alrge cardiacthrombus, partially mobile in a left venricular aneurysm was discovered by 2-dimensional echocardiography. The size and mobility of thrombus prompted us to perform aneurysmectomy with thrombectomy, to prevent repeated embolization. Early evolution was uneventful but the patient died suddenly 6 months The role of the left ventricular aneurysm as an embolic source, and its treatment arc disused.
