摘要:
Explicit consideration of the rate processes involved in cholelithiasis is necessary if the goal of accelerating gallstone dissolution as an alternative to surgical therapy is eventually to be achieved. The rate processes described here as important in this context are those affecting stone origin (nucleation), stone growth (precipitation and aggregation), and gallbladder function (layering and emptying).
