The process of social research consists in abstracting certain features from the environment and reconstituting them in a statement of interrelationships. The large scope of many research efforts and the unreliability of many techniques makes exact transmission of the original facts to a final statement practically impossible. The logical stability or systems approach is demonstrated in such aspects of social research as questionnaire construction, scaling, statistical measures and the use of theory.
