AbstractAncient Metrology, a branch of archaeology, has been very neglected for many years, although it has so much to offer to anthropologists and ethnologists, archaeologists, geographers and historians alike. Probably no other science has suffered so much from crankery, guesswork and nescience in pedantry, combined to form dogmatism on one hand, and hypercritiscism on another.
