摘要:
AbstractThis paper calls for flexibility in the design and use of CAL in Mathematics; to avoid conflict between extreme ideologies and interests and to promote the teaching and learning opportunities identified in ‘Mathematics Counts’ and required by initiatives such as GCSE. The important question is ‘do computers enhance learning and, if so, how should they be used to ensure this?’ This is made up from many more specific questions. It is suggested that by using a new CAL classification model, based on roles, control and learning processes, profiles could be constructed which would identify pertinent questions. These would prompt a re‐examination of computer use in classrooms and encourage the necessary flexibility. 摘要:
AbstractThis study was undertaken, in part, to analyse the means by which primary children familiarized themselves with a large database. Their approaches to the problems of coding data for entry were studied and the types of error and frequency of occurrence were recorded. Query formulation was studied in parallel with data entry, particularly the difficulties presented by the correct expression of queries, choice of tests and use of coded fields. Attention was paid to the age and sex of the children for both aspects of the study.

AbstractPractical experience in the development of computer‐based geometry exercises and their use in the classroom for a course on the equation of a straight line are presented. The task of creating the exercises with an authoring system for geometry is described first. Some didactical problems raised by this work are analysed in detail. The production time is estimated and discussed. A classroom experiment with pupils aged 15/16 is then presented and the teacher's organization problems are given (i.e. time spent on technical instruction, time‐sharing between theory and practice, tackling the lack of material).
