摘要:
Cooperative research projects between scientists from the United States and developing nations have been funded for more than a decade through a variety of programs of the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Agency for International Development (AID). Uniform guidelines for such projects have now been established and are grouped under a new NSF program called Science in Developing Countries (SDC).Under the program, grants will be made to U.S. institutions for science and engineering projects that are mutually beneficial to both the United States and the developing country. Activities that contribute to the capacity of the developing country to train and utilize scientists and engineers will be especially sought. Evidence of local support in the form of relevant correspondence must be incorporated into proposals.
