摘要:
High resolution capillary gas chromatography and GC/MS were used to determine the concentrations and distribution of aromatic hydrocarbons in tissues of fishes and macroepifauna obtained from an oil producing area in the Central Gulf of Mexico. Although a number of tissues were found to contain relatively low levels of various aromatic hydrocarbons, no instances of massive contamination were found.

摘要:
Scopoletin (7‐hydroxy‐6‐methoxycoumarin) is a major extractable component of cotton plant parts. It exhibits a strong blue fluorescence peak when activated in the near uv region. Further, histamine has been reported to be present in cotton plant parts. The results reported here show that scopoletin is carried through the standard complexing procedure used to assay for histamine which includes measurements of fluorescing intensity at 440 nm. Therefore, it is likely that much of the apparent histamine reported to be present in cotton plant parts or cotton dusts is actually due to scopeletin.

摘要:
During the 1978 Denver study, the General Motors mobile Atmospheric Research Laboratory was located in Commerce City, Colorado, where it monitored ambient air quality from November 8 through December 20, 1978. During this 6‐week study, varying meteorology provided a wide range of pollutant conditions ranging from clean days with concentrations near background to one of the worst episodes ever observed in the Denver area. During the study, the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) was exceeded for CO, but not for SO2or ozone. The average NO,, levels approached, but did not exceed, the NAAQS (annual average) concentration.

摘要:
The in vitro reaction between Vitamin Methyl B12and CdCl2was studied at pH 9.6. Volatile cadmium compounds such as Cd(CH3)2were sought using a G.C.‐A.A. system designed for such studies. Low concentrations (2 × 10‐9g Cd) of volatile Cd compounds were detected but characterization was not possible by G.C.‐M.S. because of the low concentration.
