摘要:
ABSTRACTFreud's concept of defence mechanisms means a perceptual, emotional or cognitive distortion of the inner or outer reality. The opposite of defence mechanisms is coping mechanisms. The adaptiveness/maladaptiveness of defences are disputed. Various fields of research have given evidence to their maladaptiveness as ways of dealing with threatening stimuli. It has been found that defences can lead to insensitivity to danger signals, lowered coping capacity to life stresses with increased vulnerability to “psychosomatic diseases”, delay in seeking help for somatic symptoms, denial of death in dying patients, their relatives and medical attendants, and delayed or complicated grief reacti

摘要:
ABSTRACTAs part of a time budget study among 149 physiotherapists in Västerbotten County, northern Sweden, a Multiple Classification Analysis was completed. The aims were to evaluate the relative importance of some factors for the allocation of working hours, and to devise comparable measures of the ability of the particular set of variables to account for the variations in time utilisation. Occupational area was the most important factor in explaining the distribution of working hours, when the other factors were kept constant. Time utilisation was slightly affected by professional post and sex, but not by working hours. The explained variance, R2, was 0.37 for patient treatment and 0.30 for transport, indicating a fair degree of explained variance in these models. The R2coefficients for the other tasks were low, indicating that factors, not included in thestudy, were more important in explaining the allocation of working hours for those tasks

摘要:
ABSTRACTThis study aimed at increasing the understanding of feeding problems in severely demented patients cared for in a task assignment system. Twenty‐three video‐recordings made during the feeding of 15 severely demented patients and 55 focused interviews with 45 caregivers, who fed the 15 patients during that period were analysed regarding the feeding problems seen from a task aspect and from a relationship aspect. The result indicated that the problems were partly of a more constant nature and partly fluctuated from meal to meal. Feeding problems regarding the task aspect were mentioned first by the caregivers in the interviews in spite of the fact that the patients had severe communication problems which could be expected to cause great problems in the relationship between the patient and his caregiver. Reasons for these findings are sugges

摘要:
ABSTRACTInsulin‐dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) affects the overall life situation of the individual. The term “quality of life” means each individual person's estimation of what it means to have a good life. There are many aspects of diabetes which will influence to a greater or lesser extent each individual's degree of satisfaction with his/her life. This theoretical analysis shows that there is no direct connection between reduced quality of life and IDDM. There is a need, however, for empirical investigations which will provide a better understanding of the relationship between quality of life and

摘要:
ABSTRACTSeveral rehabilitation models after myocardial infarction (MI) have been developed during recent years, usually with a biomedical perspective. The MI client is a biopsychosocial human being and therefore a multifactorial approach built on holistic care may offer an efficient rehabilitation process. This includes increased social support and decreased life stress for the MI client in order to obtain an adaptive coping capacity for a life style change. Health care professionals are required with specialised knowledge about how and why to care for an MI client. The present theoretical framework provides a basis for building a multifactorial rehabilitation with a caring perspective.
